"The Eau Claire River Bridge is Wisconsin's only known example of a pony truss in a Parker configuration. Overview: Lost Parker pony truss bridge over Eau Claire River on US B51-Grand Avenue in Schofield
Location: Schofield, Marathon County, Wisconsin
Status: Replaced by new bridge
History: Built 1931; Replaced 1997
Design: The Eau Claire River Bridge is a Parker Pony truss, with neoclassical deco detailing. The truss is constructed of metal with reinforced concrete abutments and peir, and concrete deck. the two-span Pratt truss with polygonal top chord, has an overall length of 184 feet 7 inches, individual span length of 91 feeeet, overall width of 49 feet 6 inches, and a roadway width of 40 feet. It has eight panels, with riveted connections, and post and upper chord, 15 inch double upright channels with a 21 inch cover plate, tied with batten plates and V-lacing. The lower chord is back-to-back angles, tied with baten plates. The diagonals are rolled section I-beams, 8x12 inches. Redecking had removed the original streetcar tracks.
