Lincoln Highway Bridge

This bridge was built around 1930 and included the Lincoln Highway indicia on the ends of the parapet walls. This was one of two bridges in Van Wert County with such markings. Both are gone.

Lincoln Highway Bridge

In 1995, the parapet walls were sandblasted and the Lincoln Highway logos were restored. The steel guard rails were added at that time. This bridge is on a road that isn't exactly a dead end, it just peters out at US 30. (It's a 1929 Model A Ford Cabriolet.)

The new slab

The ends of the old parapet walls, complete with Lincoln Highway logos, were placed here to pay homage to the historic highway.

The new slab

The historic Lincoln Highway is carried on CR 418. It was US 30 until the highway moved to a super slab that can be seen in the distance in several of these photos.
